Churro Sticks These quick and easy churro sticks are made using Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry sheets, some butter, and a cinnamon-sugar combination. Puff Pastry is such a versatile ingredient. I use it for so many recipes, like the following: Strawberry and Cream Napoleon SmartBones® Churro Style Mini Sticks Dog Treat - Peanut Butter at PetSmart. You can have Churro Sticks using 6 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Support your local restaurants with Grubhub! Make churros: In a large saucepan over medium heat, add water, butter, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then add vanilla. Turn off heat and add flour and salt.

Churro Sticks step by step

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F and line cookie sheet with parchment paper (or spray with cooking spray).
  2. Unfold the puff pastry and cut it in half (lengthwise), then cut into strips (less than 1 inch wide).
  3. Gently transfer the strips onto baking sheets and bake 8 to 10 minutes(until golden brown).
  4. While the churros are baking melt the butter and set aside..
  5. Combine cinnamon and sugar and set aside..
  6. While they are still warm, roll baked churro sticks into melted butter (don't soak them, just coat all the sides) then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Roll and dip one stick at the time..
  7. To make the sauce pour the hot cream over chopped chocolate, let it sit for one minute, then stir until smooth. (The sauce will thicken as it cools, make it right before you're ready to serve it).

Stir with a wooden spoon until thickened,. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball. I used two duck eggs so maybe next time I will try just one. Not quite as crispy as the real thing but pretty dang close!
